Save the CityRover Press Car came about when the previous owner of this ex MG Rover press demonstrator, Oli Dacosta-Evans, contacted the first journalist to ever drive it, Craig Cheetham, asking if he'd like to save it.
Instead, with a group of friends who met through an online car group, Oli and Craig decided to crowdfund the car's restoration. The finished car will be auctioned off at the 2021 British Motor Show, with every penny from its sale going to the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) (www.thecalmzone.net), a charity that exists to reduce the shocking levels of suicide seen in men under the age of 45. A cause that means a lot to many of those who have already supported the initiative.
In addition, should the restoration be completed with any surplus funds in the fundraising account, the entire amount will go to CALM.
This is a charity that really makes a difference, and you can help. As well as saving an all-time classic* British* motor car. Thank you for your amazing support.
